Move over rocket ships and electric cars, because Elon Musk is now putting the tech into techno beats, proving that some people really are just destined to take over the world. The billionaire surprised his followers on Jan. 30 when he suddenly dropped an electronic dance music song called “Don’t Doubt ur Vibe” on Soundcloud and tweeted it out in between videos of rockets, cars, and other things Musk is actually known for. In another surprising move, he also revealed that he wrote the lyrics and performed the vocals… himself. “This song is hard,” he wrote among a string of tweets. “I hope you’re enjoying the simulation.” Is the song that hard, though?"Don't doubt your vibe, because it's true.Don't doubt your vibe, because it's you."That’s it—that’s the song. Musk gave no further indication of what compelled him to produce it, whether there’d be more, or how he came to work with the fine folks at Emo G Records. He did change his Twitter handle to “E ‘D’ M” to reflect the career twist, and here we all are as 2020 continues to be a thing. [video_embed id='1880995']RELATED: Maye Musk says she knew her son Elon was special when he was three years old[/video_embed]Naturally the Internet is pretty confused but also slightly awestruck by this sudden show of artistic flair, which may or may not be filed under the “so bad, it’s good” category. It's not like people didn’t see this coming. After all, Musk also released a track in 2016 called “RIP Harambe,” which was a tribute to the zoo gorilla officials shot after a three-year-old fell into its enclosure. That track had some pretty similar beats, although there were definitely more lyrics to it.By that logic, the Tesla boss’s fans should look forward to another track circa 2024.
