Liz Trinnear
Liz Trinnear lives and breathes all things music and pop culture. Hailing from London, Ont., Trinnear’s passion for music is the reason she always dreamed about working at Much, which she saw as the music epicentre of Canada growing up. While working as a summer cruiser personality for Corus Radio, she found out that MuchMusic was looking for a new VJ, and shot her own episode of CRIBS for her audition. The video got the attention of thousands of fans on Facebook and Twitter, and soon enough, the girl voted “most likely to be a MuchMusic VJ” in high school beat out 4,000 other hopefuls, and landed her dream gig.
Trinnear quickly became a rising star in Canada’s entertainment scene, co-hosting THE MUCH MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS (MMVA) RED CARPET SPECIAL from 2012-2014, hosting the MUCH COUNTDOWN, and TODAY’S TOP 10, among others. Since 2015, Trinnear has co-hosted the IHEARTRADIO MMVAs alongside multi-platinum selling artist Ed Sheeran, international supermodel Gigi Hadid, Canadian singer-songwriter Alessia Cara, and DNCE’s Joe Jonas. She has also covered major events and award shows, including the including the Oscars®, the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, the JUNO Awards for CTV, Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards® Red Carpet, Emmy® Awards Red Carpet, Toronto Fashion Week, Toronto International Film Festival®, MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS (VMAs), and New York Fashion Week.
After a short stint as a special correspondent for CTV’s ETALK, Trinnear officially joined Canada’s most-watched entertainment news program as an ETALK Reporter. Today, Trinnear reports from Hollywood as the program’s L.A. Correspondent. A fashion aficionado and captivating chatterbox, Trinnear brings her signature style and grounded personality to ETALK. Trinnear has covered high profile events such as the Grammy Awards® and interviewed some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Adam Levine, David Beckham, Quentin Tarantino, Chloe Grace Moretz, Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran, Big Sean, James Franco, Will Ferrell, Tom Cruise, Jennifer Anniston, and Jake Gyllenhall all while on assignment for ETALK.
As a seasoned entertainment reporter, Trinnear became the host of CTV’s hit music series, THE LAUNCH for its second season in 2019. In the same year, Trinnear also appeared on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL as a wardrobe assistant named, Jenny.
One of Trinnear’s most endearing and admirable qualities is her positive outlook on life. Having struggled with a skin condition from a young age, Trinnear has always felt that it’s what you exude from within that counts the most. Inspired by the lyrics “don’t assume everything on the surface is what you see, cause that classmate just lost her mother and that taxi driver’s got a PHD,” from Amanda Marshall’s song “Everybody’s Got A Story,” Trinnear is content being herself, and radiating her positive attitude and personality both on-screen, and off, while always trying to instill this same motivation in her fans.
